SOHRAB AND RUSTUM
A work in progress.
This is an animation that has been in my head for many years and one I have been working on now for over a year on and off.
The story centers around a beautiful young English teacher I once had, Mrs.Wenger and her reading of a poem by Matthew Arnold, Sohrab and Rustum. I was only fourteen at the time and my school was a very small private college on Sydney’s North Shore. I found Mrs. Wenger’s reading and the power of the verses so evocative that the tragic legend of a young Tartar warrior in search of his father has stayed with me ever since.
I am committed to completing the film by the end of 2017. It will run around eleven minutes and be realized through drawings and water colours.
